PMAX
is a stand alone performance management system for fossil fired power stations,
steam turbines and generators and gas turbines. It runs parallel to the control
system and can be networked and configured with independent displays or
integrated into the control system.

PMAX Boiler
Sootblowing Advisor
The PMAX
Boiler Sootblowing Advisor provides operators with information to clean boiler
stages at the appropriate time and location to optimize sootblowing operation.
Scientech is well known for it’s detailed high quality boiler calculations,
providing substantial savings to our customers in judicious sootblowing of
boiler stages.
The boiler
cycle monitoring calculations provide the following results:
·
cleanliness factors on all boiler stages,
·
furnace exit gas temperature,
·
flue gas temperatures between boiler stages,
·
actual heat transfer coefficients for each
boiler stage,
·
theoretical heat transfer coefficients for each
boiler stage,
·
flue gas cross-flow velocities,
·
stage average metal temperatures,
·
specific heat of both air and gas, and
·
excess air.
Alarm codes
(blue for clean, yellow for marginal, red for urgent) help operators quickly
determine when and where to clean a boiler stage.

PEPSE
is a software tool for heat balance
calculations. Powerful functions allow design and performance modes for
modeling. Design mode is useful when verification of new plant design or vendor
data is required. Performance mode is typically used for older plants or when
design documentation is no longer complete.
